Because we believe your skin doesn't need 15 products and 30 unpronounceable ingredients. basic. is about getting back to basics - simple, effective, and natural formulas. The period at the end is our way of saying: period, no need to add anything else.

Yes. basic. is PETA-certified vegan. None of our products contain animal-derived ingredients, and we never test on animals. This is a non-negotiable commitment.

No, never. Our deodorants are formulated without aluminum salts, parabens, or alcohol. We use natural active ingredients such as baking soda and essential oils to effectively neutralize odors, while allowing your skin to breathe.

Yes. Natural doesn't mean ineffective. Our formulas are rigorously developed to combine performance and purity. The efficacy of our natural deodorant balm has been validated in an independent clinical trial (Eurofins Dermscan): 85% of participants observed a significant reduction in odors after one day of use. We don't make claims without proving them.

We prioritize cold-pressed vegetable oils (jojoba, sweet almond, coconut), natural butters (shea), clays, and pure essential oils. Each formula is minimalist: only what is necessary, nothing superfluous. The complete INCI list is available on each product page - in technical format and in a simplified French translation.

Our ingredients are predominantly organically grown – this is a priority in our sourcing. We haven't sought to tick the "certified organic" box for marketing purposes: we prefer the real quality to speak for itself. The natural and organic percentages are indicated on each product page. No lies, no ambiguity.

We have four variations so everyone can find theirs:
the classic - neutral and effective, suitable for everyone. The best starting point if you don't know where to begin.
floral - a soft floral touch for those who like a delicate scent.
woody - warm and deep notes, for a more sensorial experience.
sensitive skin - formulated without baking soda, for reactive skin that hasn't always had a good experience with natural deodorants.

The idea is simple: you have an applicator that you keep, and you only change the refill when it's empty. No need to buy a new tube every time - you keep the same object, you refill the content. Less waste, more meaning. And in the long run, it's also more economical.

For the deodorant: you slide the refill into the KIIMA applicator - it takes 2 seconds. For the lip balm: same principle, you finish the old refill and insert the new one. No screws, no glue, no instructions to read. We deliberately made it obvious.

The deodorant applicator is a KIIMA applicator. It is compatible with all KIIMA system refills - including other brands that use the same system. However, our refills are not compatible with generic applicators from other manufacturers.

Most of our products are suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women. However, some essential oils are not recommended during this period – this is clearly indicated on each product page. If in doubt, consult your doctor or midwife. Or write to us directly: we will give you an honest answer.

Some products – such as our gentle balms and oils – are suitable for children from 3 years old. Deodorants and products containing essential oils are recommended for ages 6 and up. The minimum age of use is specified on each product page.

Yes. The efficacy and tolerance of our natural deodorant balm have been tested by the independent laboratory Eurofins Dermscan on 27 people. Result: 85% of participants observed a reduction in odor after one day of use. If you have very sensitive skin or known allergies, we still recommend testing on a small area before first use.

We ship via Swiss Post within 1 to 2 business days. You usually receive your order within 3 to 5 days of purchase. A tracking number is sent to you by email upon shipment so you can track your package in real time.

Our packaging is 100% recyclable and minimalist: kraft cardboard, unbleached tissue paper, zero superfluous plastic. Each package is prepared by hand in our workshop in Lausanne - with care, not on an assembly line.
