Is this really going to work for me?
We formulate in small batches in our Lausanne laboratory, and we test each product before putting it on sale. Our deodorant has been validated by Eurofins Dermscan, an independent laboratory. For the face, our serums and skincare products are designed with simple and recognized active ingredients, with no exaggerated promises.
And if, despite all this, a product doesn't suit you, you have 14 days to return it - even if it's been started. We'd rather a product leave you than sit unused in your bathroom.
What if the product doesn't suit me? What's your return policy?
You have 14 days after receipt to return a product to us, even if it has been opened or used up to 50%. We take this commitment seriously: we want you to truly test it, without regret.
You are responsible for the return shipping costs (both ways), but we will refund the product in full upon receipt. Limit: 2 returns over 12 months, so that we can continue to offer this flexibility to all customers.
What are your shipping times and costs?
We ship from Lausanne within 24 to 48 business hours. Delivery in Switzerland generally arrives 2 to 4 business days after the order, depending on the postal service.
Free delivery from 70 CHF of purchase. Below that, it's 7 CHF (Switzerland, economy). We also deliver to France and Europe - costs are automatically displayed at the payment stage.
How do I choose the right product for me?
Several options depending on your needs: for your face, our 6-question skin diagnostic recommends the routine adapted to your skin and your priorities. For deodorant, our 4 variants (classic, floral, woody, sensitive skin) cover all profiles - there's even a bicarbonate-free version for reactive skin.
And if you're still undecided, write to us via WhatsApp or by email. Raluca will personally respond within 24-48 business hours and guide you according to your case.
Is the payment secure? What payment methods do you accept?
Payment is processed through Shopify Payments, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified (the highest standard of banking security). Your banking details never pass through our servers.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, TWINT, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal. For orders over 100 CHF, installment payments are available via Klarna.
What exactly does your "natural" and "vegan" commitment mean?
All our products are PETA-certified vegan – no animal ingredients, no animal testing, ever. In terms of formulas, we work with simple and recognizable active ingredients: cold-pressed vegetable oils, organic butters, hydrolats, essential oils.
Our sustainable commitment goes further than just the formula: our KIIMA applicators are refillable, designed to last for years. You change the content, not the object. Less plastic thrown away, less cosmetic waste.
Who are you behind basic.?
basic. was founded in Lausanne in 2018 by Raluca and Sébastien. Verònica joined us in January 2026 as lab manager. We are an independent team of 3 people who formulate, package, and label by hand, in small batches.
No big group, no oversized marketing – just an artisanal brand that embraces its scale and prefers a direct relationship with its customers over a standardized product.
I've heard about the Basic Club - how does it work?
This is our loyalty program: 1 CHF spent = 5 points earned. The more points you earn, the more benefits you unlock: a permanent 5% to 10% discount on your orders, free shipping with a lower threshold, a free sample with every order, a birthday gift, and early access to private sales.
Membership is free. You can also refer a friend: they receive 5 CHF, and you receive 5 CHF, with no minimum purchase.
